Composite Chart Calculator
Synastry describes two people meeting. A composite describes the thing they make together, as a chart in its own right.
What you get
- A midpoint composite: every planet placed at the midpoint of the two natal positions
- A full wheel with houses, aspects and patterns, read as an ordinary chart
- Dignities and chart rulers for the composite, same as any natal chart
How it works
The midpoint composite takes each pair of planets — your Sun and their Sun — and places a single point halfway between them. Do that for every body and you have a chart that belongs to neither person.
It is best read as a description of the relationship's own character: what it is for, what it keeps circling back to, where it strains. A composite with a tight Saturn aspect is not a doomed relationship; it is one with a job to do.
A composite is a derived chart, not an observed one — there was never a moment when the sky looked like this. That is worth holding in mind. It describes a pattern rather than an event, which is why composites read well for character and poorly for timing.
