How it works

A natal chart is a map of one moment. The engine converts your birth time to Universal Time using the timezone and daylight-saving rules that were actually in force at that place on that date — not today's rules — then computes positions from the Swiss Ephemeris.

That conversion is where most free calculators quietly go wrong. Historical daylight saving is irregular and full of edge cases: clocks that went forward and made a time that never existed, and clocks that fell back and made an hour happen twice. The calculator detects both and asks you which hour you meant rather than guessing.

From there everything else follows. The houses divide the sky, the aspects describe how the planets regard one another, and the dignities say how much strength each planet has in the place it finds itself.
